President Sandra Moait

Position: President

Sandra was the General Secretary of the NSW Nurses Association until August 2002. Sandra was elected President of Labor Council in February 2000, this was the first time a female was elected President since Labor Council's formation in 1871.

Prior to being elected President Sandra was a Vice-President of Labor Council, a position she held since March 1997.

Sandra was the General Secretary of the NSW Nurses Association from 1995 until 2002 and has been with the union in various capacities since 1976, Sandra is a registered nurse and prior to 1976 she worked as a general and mental health nurse in both public and private hospitals.

Sandra is also a Vice-President of the ACTU, Treasurer of APHEDA (Union Aid Abroad), Director of Labor Media, Chair of the Edith Cavell Trust and a Trustee of the First State Super Trustee Corporation.
