Work Stress Contributed to Cancer Death
By CCH
Workplace stress can lead to chronic fatigue, depression, insomnia, anxiety, migraines, emotional upsets, allergies and substance abuse.
Studies have also found links between stressful working conditions and injury/illness rate.
A recent decision by the South Australian Workers Compensation Tribunal accepted evidence that workplace stress contributed to the onset and development of an employee's terminal cancer. The employee worked at the Yatala Labour Prison for 21 years. The Tribunal decided on a balance of probabilities that the worker's employment contributed to the cancer that caused his death."
