ACTU ‘Dialogue’ With Fund Managers
The ACTU is planning to sake up fund managers' views of corporate governance and labour relations by hosting a one-day seminar in Melbourne on 24th July.
The program involves a number of ACTU executives and affiliates giving presentations on topics such as unions' perspectives on the economy, corporate governance and labour relations developments. Linda Rubinstein, senior industrial officer at the ACTU said that the seminar was being held to recognise that fund managers choose the companies in which union members' superannuation funds are invested, but that fund managers don't know what unions are about and that they do not focus on some research of concern to the union movement, such as downsizing, outsourcing and casualisation.
