Call Centre Delegates Summit - SydneyWhere: CPSU Conference Room, 191-199 Thomas Street, Haymarket, NSW, 2000When: 01 December 2001 Start time: 9.30 am Saturday Finish time: 5:00 pm Sunday
A summit for Call Centre Delegates has been organised by the ACTU, State Labor Councils and Call Centre Unions. The Summit is focusing on campaign 'case studies' in order to provide a hands-on learning opportunity. The two days will focus on techniques, strategies or campaigns that have been used to organise call centres.
The morning session of day one is dedicated to identifying key issues to be addressed and discussed during the Summit. Thus day one is an opportunity to look closely at how we can better organise our workplaces. At the end of day one, each participant will have a basic plan on "how to" organise their workplace. Day two will focus on 'industry wide' issues (ie. acoustic shock, minimum wages and conditions) and how these isues can be used as a focal point to improve conditions in each call centre whilst building a stronger union across the industry. If you are planning to attend it will be useful to think about the following issues: (a)how you will use the workshops to develop a 'plan' for your workplace; (b)any information you need to collect before the sessions so that you can work on your plan; and (c)how you might be able to use 'industry wide' issues to organise your workplace. If you would like more information, have any suggestions, or need to let us know of any special requirements you may have, please call Belinda Tkalcevic at the ACTU on (03) 9664 7356.
