RE: Reclaim the Night

Dear Colleague,

Reclaim the Night is an international march and rally against sexual violence which is held for women and children on the last Friday night in October each year.

This year's Sydney march will begin with a rally at Town Hall at 7.00pm, Friday, 26th October and will involve a march to Hyde Park where there will be entertainment.

There will also be a march in Bankstown this year, starting at 6.00pm on Thursday, 25th October, at the Outer Memorial Oval Bankstown (details attached). The organisers of this event have asked unions to assist by providing (women) marshals. If you are able to assist with this, please contact Shannon O'Keeffe on (02) 9264 9744, or by e-mail sokeeffe@ihug.com.au.

Please bring both of these events to the attention of your women members and staff.

Yours fraternally

Alison Peters

Deputy Assistant Secretary - Community Affairs
