RE: Burma Campaign - Meeting 17 October 2001

Dear Colleague,

This is a reminder that there will be a meeting of affiliates at 2.00pm on Wednesday, 17 October, in the Executive Board Room, Level 9, 377 Sussex Street, Sydney, to discuss the next steps in the union movement's campaign to have forced labour and other human rights abuses stopped in Burma.

The focus of the meeting will be to plan an event for Human Rights Day on 10 December, which will highlight the issues facing the Burmese people and contribute to the international campaign of pressure against the military regime in that country.

I trust your union will be represented at this most important meeting.

Yours fraternally

Alison Peters

Deputy Assistant Secretary, Community Affairs
